Helene Kriegstein, an accomplished mathematics educator who brings over 30 years of experience to MAC Associates, currently serves as the Curriculum Associate for Mathematics, K-12, in the Jericho Union Free School District in Jericho, NY. A former president of the Nassau County Association of Mathematics Supervisors (NCAMS), Helene continues to contribute to the advancement of mathematics education across Long Island.
Helene’s commitment to fostering a culture of Understanding by Design® and Differentiation is evident in her work with all new teachers in her district. She is dedicated to empowering educators to design curriculum and assessments that prioritize deep understanding and real-life problem-solving scenarios. Through her efforts, students are encouraged to apply their knowledge in practical contexts.
As a firm believer in professional development, Helene has conducted workshops on Understanding by Design and Differentiated Instruction both locally in Long Island school districts and on a national scale.
