As an experienced educator – classroom teacher, district curriculum director, state curriculum specialist, college professor, and content developer in an international context – John’s primary emphasis is working with districts and systems applying UbD ® across grades and subjects. From developing a plan, to developing units, implementation coaching, districts have seen transforms in teacher instructional practice. With a diverse background in teaching composition and middle school though college and his deep understanding of writing pedagogy, John brings enthusiasm and excitement for helping teachers develop strategies and approaches for teaching writing and reading across the curriculum. John holds Master’s degrees in Educational Administration and English from Columbia University (NY) and Morehead State University (KY) respectively.
