Kimberly is an experienced teacher and administrator who began her work as an educational consultant in 2012, when she began working for the late Grant Wiggins as part of his team of consultants at Authentic Education. In this role, she has facilitated learning experiences to support teachers and administrators in designing and implementing understanding-focused curriculum as well as in identifying and designing authentic tasks that assess for understanding and transfer.
Kimberly has led large-scale curriculum design projects with urban and suburban districts, has provided long-term leadership training and coaching for administrators, and has facilitated workshops on the elements of the Understanding by Design® framework across the United States and around the world.
Kimberly has over 30 years of educational experience. Prior to her work as a consultant, she taught English at both the middle and high school levels and served as an assistant principal, and then principal, of a middle school.
Kimberly holds a B.A. from the University of Missouri, Columbia, a M.A. from the University of Missouri, St. Louis, and an Ed.D. from Maryville University in St. Louis, MO. She also holds teacher, principal, and superintendent certifications.
